Newest Folding client oddities...
So for the first time I've finally gotten around to firing up the new client after being out of the game for a few months mostly...

On my 3930k .... still hovering around 27-36k ppd

at least the 6970 is pushing a full 100% gpu time and spitting out the typical 8k ppd too.

Installed it on the 3770k system.... 17-24k ppd .... meh

HD6850 ..... 52k ppd

wtf?

Checking the wu numbers and such even with identical numbers.. this 6850 is blasting through the work units with massive credit bonus points.. meanwhile the 6970 is spitting out the usual.

this can't be right.

so I stuck a 7870 in the rig....... drops right down..

Clearly there is something not right.... Mind you the machine does seriously hesitate at times even with the extra 5-10% cpu remaining for tasks..... the gpu clearly is pumping it out.

Anyone else getting wild results?

I only have my 6870 for a reference... you might try client-type beta for the GPUs and see if they work more correctly. the beta ones is a core 7 that uses OpenCL instead of cuda for NVIDIA and whatever they are using for the AMD cards.

Core 17*

You're changing the video cards in the same rig, right? And the settings remain the same?

Yeah identical setups.... same work units..... and i'm using beta on both..

currently my i7 3930k machine is actualy not receiving any work assignments right now.... meanwhile the other machine has successfully just recently....

not sure what's up.

edit:

wait.... Base and Estimated credit for the 3930k system are identical.... the 3770k ppd however is showing a massive estimated credit... clearly bonus is being applied to the 3770k/6850 system but not to the 3930k/6970 system. o.O

"is confused"

If I did my math right, I should be pulling a consistant 100,000 ppd off this 3930k syste right just because the 6970 gpu is a full 30-40% faster gpu wise than the 6850.

Just throwing this question out there...The criteria to receive bonus points includes returning at least 10 work units, and maintaining...If I recall correctly...80% succession rates thereafter. However, is this tied only to your name, or to your hardware as well?

That's the only thing I can think of, beyond some sort of hardware issue that might be affecting performance in your other cards.

Alternatively, don't complain and just keep running the 6850. Them be some sweet points.
