Java? Really? How did you make that connection? Not saying you're wrong, since Java is pretty damn shit, but I'm sure there could have been other things open both times as well. Basically, what makes you think it's specifically Java, and not, say, Firefox itself, or any number of background services and processes you may have running?

well, have had firefox open pretty much 24/7. I don't do too much besides checking forums on my computer, and it worked fine during that. Tried loading a java game, though and it crashed within 5 minutes both times. Has to be something related to that, right?

Firefox 21.0, java build 1.7.0_09, latest folding at home, nvidia 314.22, EVGA 680, and an oooold i7-2600 :P

Man, you know, if I had three GTX 780, I could be the top folder in this team.

But that would cost like $1600 and a 1500W PSU.

The new GPU core makes GPU folding very good, Unless you have quite a bit of money to drop on a multi-proc system then GPU folding is better.
