Rosetta@Home overrides Folding@Home?
I recently began running Rosetta@Home, to utilize CPU, alongside Folding@Home which is utilizing my GPUs. Both are running on 'Idle'.

Today I was using my laptop and looked up when I heard the desktop CPU cooler speed up.
Rosetta had kicked in and was making good use of the CPU, but Folding never came on.

Is there any chance Rosetta is preventing FAH from starting?

Yep. BOINC projects don't run on idle. They run on low. Quite annoying, actually. The solution is to increase the F@H priority to low as well, but you might notice a slight performance hit.

I suggest you forget about CPU folding. The CPU would be best used on BOINC, and the GPU on F@H.

So simply remove the CPU slot in the folding menu?

Yep. These days, unless you have a server CPU with a shitload of cores, you won't see too much come out of CPU folding, so as far as points are concerned, GPU folding and CPU BOINC is the way to go. Normally, I don't care about the points, but since we make progress either way, it doesn't matter what projects we contribute to.
