Post Your Desktop
Seeing how these forums are otherwise pretty desolate and I'd have no idea where else to post this, here we go! A place to post your desktop (main or folding or whatever), what OS you use, anything special about it, and maybe a link to the wallpaper. I'd recommend you use "[IMG=800x450]" or similar to prevent huge embedded images.

I run Xubuntu 12.04 on my T530 (the computer I use most) with six desktops, and am trying to get some Compiz scripts to work for some split-screen action. Nothing too special here, just a bunch of desktop files I need to clean up and 40 tabs hogging half my memory.

Also, If this forum is meant for serious business only (I have no idea if it's meant only for advice/information or as a community), feel free to take down this thread.
Retired from folding

Eh, it's not really meant to be a community, hence why we don't have an Off Topic sub-forum, but "fluffy" threads are fine, as long as they're relevant (hardware/software, primarily).

RE: Post Your Desktop
i dont mind these sorts of threads. im pretty laid back about it, and if it generates positive activity, why not? id hope to get a decent community around here, so who knows, maybe in the future it will warrant an off topic forum. anyway, have some nebulas

clicky, because its so big it broke the forums

I also have a 2nd screen to the right of this one running at a resolution of 1680x1050. WM is AwesomeWM on Arch. Oh, and my backgrouns are randomized on X startup, which isn't very often, so I run the script to change them every once in a while.

I really want to give Arch an honest try. Any special tricks with AwesomeWM? That is, any learning curve?

Not really. Mine is actually mostly stock. I just customized which tiling styles show up(seriously, it ships with so many by default), and the menus.

Wow, a lot of people use Ubuntu...

I've got a dual boot set up, but haven't used it in, like... Too long. I end up just Windows.
