I would sacrifice a small child to get that kind of PPD Pinkiecrazy

you can get about 110K PPD out of a 7970... and they have gotten cheap as of late.

My main problem is that the rest of my hardware is outdated/low end enough that it wouldn't be worth putting one in.

If I have enough money left over at the end of the summer/Christmas, I'm going to try and build a new desktop.

RE: F@H General Discussion
So had this weird thing happen tonight. I occasionally get a graphics driver crash every now and then, but this one was a little different. Kind of felt like it was hanging between crashing and not crashing. Everything started lagging like crazy, insane amounts of input lag, every now and then the Skype call I was in would drop it's audio. They could hear me, though. Managed to open up my GPU monitor. It had dropped to 0% load, but was on boost clock speeds(as it should be while folding, though at 95%+ load). Fan was reading as 0%, but definitely wasn't. Temps dropped way down.

Finally got around to stopping my CPU and GPU folding. Didn't affect it at all, though. After that, I just force shut down everything and turned off my computer. Restarted, everything was back to normal.

I have absolutely no idea what the heck went wrong.

Whelp, this is it for me. Turning off my computer in about 5 hours. Almost hit 10 million! Ah, so close.

Why not set your computer on a shutdown timer? 6 hours unattended won't hurt, right?

You can use realtemp to auto shut down you computer if any part gets too hot, you can specify the temp to shut down at.

It was more like 18 days unattended, in an unventilated room, on the top floor, sunny side.

But more importantly, I'm back, and folding with all my power! Soon to hit 10 million, too.

Back in AXEtion!

Well...It would seem that I had forgotten to lower my volume after blaring my music loud enough to hear from another room.

You owe me a new set of pants.

Your past self owes your current self pants? That works out, because all his pants are now yours!

RE: F@H General Discussion
Okay, this is getting annoying.

GPU unit finishes, uploads, and I download another one. All fine and good....until it actually starts processing. Right at that point, massive lag spike in everything, input lag, audio and video lag. Everything. Heck, my internet even dies, Skype goes offline, Firefox crashes, DotA2 crashes.

Then poof, screen goes black. I recognize it as a graphics driver crash, so I wait, and a few seconds later it comes back on. A little slow at first, but eventually everything gets back to normal.

This whole process takes about a minute and a half. Now I want to know what the heck keeps happening every time I finish a unit. It doesn't seem specific to CPU or GPU units, as I'm pretty sure this just happened a day or so ago with a CPU unit. And last time this happened, I got a BSOD. It doesn't happen often, though, but when it does it messes my computer up REALLY hard. My graphics driver is up to date, and so is my F@H client. Any ideas.?

Wait...So the driver crash happens regardless of slot type? Even if it is SMP/CPU?
